Curator-led walkthrough at Art + Practice

Member Event

Members at the MOCA Associate level and above are invited to Art + Practice, a nonprofit organization co-founded in 2014 by artist and MOCA Trustee Mark Bradford. Based in the neighborhood of Leimert Park in South Los Angeles, A+P supports the local needs of transition-age foster youth, and children experiencing displacement worldwide through its collaborations with nonprofit social service providers First Place for Youth and PILAglobal. A+P also provides Angelenos with free access to museum-curated contemporary art, organized by the California African American Museum.

The guided visit will start with an overview of their programs supporting transition-age foster youth and conclude with a walkthrough of their current exhibition, Helen Commstock: I Will Keep My Soul, led by Essence Harden, visual arts curator at the California African American Museum.

An invitation with event details will be emailed to members at the MOCA Associate level ($375) and above. Memberships can be purchased or renewed online. If you would like to upgrade an existing membership, please contact the Membership Department at membership@moca.org.
