Lecture

Melina Abdullah, Professor and Chair of Pan-African Studies at California State University Los Angeles, is a recognized expert on race, gender, class, and social movements and serves as a Los Angeles chapter lead for the Black Lives Matter movement. On the occasion of Real Worlds: Brassaï, Arbus, Goldin, Abdullah will speak to her experiences as an activist and organizer, making connections between aspects of her fight for justice and equity and the images on view in the galleries.​


​Priority tickets are available to MOCA members one hour before the program. Fifteen minutes before the program begins tickets will be released to non-members. One ticket per person on a first come, first served basis. Early arrival is recommended.
