Melina Abdullah, Professor and Chair of Pan-African Studies at California State University Los Angeles, is a recognized expert on race, gender, class, and social movements and serves as a Los Angeles chapter lead for the Black Lives Matter movement. On the occasion of Real Worlds: Brassaï, Arbus, Goldin, Abdullah will speak to her experiences as an activist and organizer, making connections between aspects of her fight for justice and equity and the images on view in the galleries.
Priority tickets are available to MOCA members one hour before the program. Fifteen minutes before the program begins tickets will be released to non-members. One ticket per person on a first come, first served basis. Early arrival is recommended.
