The Readers Chorus and The Dog Star Orchestra

Performance

Composers Michael Pisaro and Sara Roberts present a joint concert of The Dog Star Orchestra and The Readers Chorus. This program of manifestos for readers and experimental harmonies for singers, inspired by Fluxus composer James Tenney’s Valentine Manifesto, will use texts drawn from artists’ statements and orchestrated by members of Los Angeles’s experimental music community. The Dog Star Orchestra is an ensemble and yearly festival of experimental music started in 2005. The Readers Chorus plays with the possibilities of the speaking voice and the sculptural aspects of sound.

Priority tickets are available to MOCA members one hour before the program. Fifteen minutes before the program begins tickets will be released to non-members. One ticket per person on a first come, first served basis. Early arrival is recommended.
