Lecture

Linda Taalman founded her architectural firm, first called OPENOFFICE, in 1998. Over her twenty-year career, she has created residential homes, most notably the signature IT House, as well as museum and exhibition spaces. Taalman’s practice is firmly rooted in the idea that the collaboration between architect and client is a process of “forming the area between self and space, interior and exterior, architecture and landscape, design and object.” Taalman gives insight into the installation Lauren Halsey: we still here, there. Both Halsey and Taalman approach space-making with the understanding that architecture is not fixed; we animate spaces by living in them, moving through them, and using them as a framework for our experiences.
