Join us for the culminating event of Summer Encounter 2010, The Colburn School's two-week, hands-on immersion in the performing arts involving nearly 60 students from 14 public elementary schools in Los Angeles. Now in its ninth year, the program is designed to introduce children to the performing arts and expose them to the many cultural resources in downtown Los Angeles, including MOCA. This year, the students are given a guided tour of the exhibitions at MOCA Grand Avenue, follow by a hands-on project inspired by the art seen and discussed in the galleries. As a final celebratory event, students will display their artwork and participate in a grand finale concert at the Colburn School's Herbert Zipper Concert Hall.
