Teen Night is a free event created by teens for teens. This iteration is inspired by the exhibitions Real Worlds: Brassaï, Arbus, Goldin and Lauren Halsey: we still here, there, on view at MOCA Grand Avenue. Real Worlds looks at the honest and subversive narratives of three seminal photographers, while Halsey’s cavernous installation is a utopian celebration of South Central Los Angeles, her home since childhood. Teen Night responds to these ideas, showcasing narratives from teens across Los Angeles in the face of changing national and local landscapes. Teen Night will include live musical performances, refreshments, creative activities, and a student art exhibition curated by the 2017–18 MOCA Teens.
