Join us for an evening of sounds curated by Ashley Younniä of The Children of Sound! Ashley Younniä is a New Jersey-born, LA-based DJ and multi-disciplinary music curator whose sonic storytelling is deeply rooted in the Black American tradition of house music brings her dynamic dance floor residency FEELIN’ FEELIN’ to The MOCA Geffen as part of First Fridays!
FEELIN’ FEELIN’ is a dance floor residency dedicated to the black, queer, and femmes whose sound, bodies, and voices have shaped music and culture today. For this installment Ashley Younniä invites friend and DJ, Shaun Ross, creator of STARDUST, a staple black queer global house music party, to take over our plaza for a night under the stars of movement, sweat and release. FEELIN’ FEELIN’ is more than a party, it’s a ritual—a space where ancestral power moves through basslines and bodies.
The program is presented as part of First Fridays at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, offering special programming and free admission to special exhibitions from 5–8pm on the first Friday of every month.
This program is organized by Justen Leroy, Director of Public Programs and Community Outreach, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
