The most comprehensive exhibition to survey the work of this LA architect when it debuted, The Architecture of R.M. Schindler comprised over one hundred original drawings, approximately ninety photographs, fifteen scale-models, and twelve pieces of furniture. Schindler’s approach to modern architecture incorporated materials from concrete to translucent plastic; spanned geographies from mountains and deserts to beaches and hills; and included residential, commercial, and religious structures. The chronologically organized exhibition highlights Schindler’s experimentalism and sensitivity to environmental and cultural conditions, focusing heavily on his mature work from 1920 on.

The exhibition travels to the National Building Museum, Washington, DC, and MAK Vienna.
