The first major presentation of this Southern California artist’s work, Raymond Pettibon included over five hundred drawings, pamphlets, and books created by Pettibon over the prior two decades.
The show traveled from the Philadelphia Museum of Art to The Drawing Center, New York, to MOCA, where Paul Schimmel, Chief Curator, commissioned six new wall paintings from Pettibon to accompany the show. An additional thirty drawings from the collection of Arnold Ford were also presented at MOCA.
Raymond Pettibon was organized by Ann Temkin, Curator, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Suzanne Ghez, Director, the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago.
