Perpetual Motif: The Art of Man Ray featured two hundred and sixty-eight paintings, works on paper, photographs, films and objects.
The show began at the National Museum of American Art, Washington, DC and ran from Dec. 2, 1988 - Feb. 20, 1989. Following the MOCA exhibition, it was presented at the Menil Collection, Houston, Jun. 30, 1989 - Sept. 17, 1989 and the Museum of Art, Philadelphia, Oct. 14, 1989 - Jan. 7, 1990.
Perpetual Motif: The Art of Man Ray was organized by Elizabeth T. Smith, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
