A collaborative project between New York-based artist Kiki Smith and Viennese architect and Wolf Prix of Studio Coop Himmelblau. The first artist-architect collaboration to be presented at MOCA, it consists of a group of new figurative sculptural works and drawings by Smith positioned within a soaring, cage-like structure designed by Prix, spanning the nearly sixty-foot height of MOCA's J. Paul Getty Trust Gallery.

Focus Series: Paradise Cage: Kiki Smith and Coop Himmelblau was part of the museum’s Focus Series (1992–1998), which was dedicated to presentations of distinct bodies of work by artists working in all media and featured a roster of distinguished local and international artists.
