The first comprehensive exhibition of the two collections of Count Giuseppe and Mrs. Giovanna di Biumo in MOCA's holdings, the exhibition featured the Panza Collection (12 December 1999–30 April 2000), made up of eighty historically significant works purchased by MOCA in 1980, and the Panza Gift (30 January–30 April 2000), given to the museum in 1994 and comprising seventy works created between 1982 and 1993 in a variety of media by Los Angeles artists. The Panza Collection features the work of Jean Fautrier, Franz Kline, Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Mark Rothko, George Segal, and Antoni Tapies. The work of Lawrence Carroll, Greg Colson, Jeff Colson, Ron Griffin, Mark Lere, Gregory Mahoney, Ross Rudel, Peter Shelton, Robert Therrien, and Roy Thurston comprises the Panza Gift.
The exhibition was accompanied by a catalogue.
