Intersections: The Personal and the Social in the Permanent Collection

Highlighting recent acquisitions to the permanent collection, these works explored the construction of personal, social and cultural identity. Defying easy categorization, the installations, sculptures, paintings, and photography on view presented a variety of strategies that address issues of gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, community, spirituality, and a sense of place. Among the artists featured were John Ahearn, Vito Acconci, Larry Clark, Chris Finley, Gotscho, Gronk, Rona Pondick, Adam Rolston, Alexis Smith, May Sun, and Andrea Zittel.
