
This exhibition comprised twenty-four black-and-white, 20 x 24-inch photographic prints from a multi-decade long series. The photographs were taken on a large-format camera and depict seascapes from around the world: Italy; Jamaica; Turkey; Japan; the Isle of Man; and many more.
Focus Series: Hiroshi Sugimoto traveled to the Parrish Art Museum, Southampton, New York, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
The exhibition was accompanied by a catalogue.
Focus Series: Hiroshi Sugimoto was part of the museum’s Focus Series (1992–1998), which was dedicated to presentations of distinct bodies of work by artists working in all media and featured a roster of distinguished local and international artists.
