This New York-based artist produced provocative, minimal works utilizing a variety of media including works on paper, sculpture, photography and billboards.
The MOCA exhibition included installations, stack pieces, and a billboard displayed in the museum as well as twenty other locations throughout LA. The exhibition traveled to the Hirshhorn Museum, Jun. 16-Sept. 11-1994 and The Renaissance Society, Sept. 25-Nov. 6, 1994, and was installed and titled differently each time.
Focus Series: Felix Gonzalez-Torres: Traveling was part of the museum’s Focus Series (1992–1998), which was dedicated to presentations of distinct bodies of work by artists working in all media and featured a roster of distinguished local and international artists.
