The Temporary Contemporary
Elizabeth Murray: Paintings and Drawings presented nineteen drawings and twenty-seven paintings.
Elizabeth Murray was the third of four traveling solo shows presented as part of MOCA's “Inaugural Year” programming, which celebrated the opening of the museum’s Grand Avenue location and centered on the exhibition, Individuals: A Selected History of Contemporary Art, 1945-1986. The solo shows, installed at MOCA’s Temporary Contemporary location, were conceptualized as extending the historical scope of Individuals into the more immediate present.
The exhibition was accompanied by a catalogue.
Elizabeth Murray: Paintings and Drawings was organized by Sue Graze, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art, and Kathy Halbriech, Director of the Albert and Vera List Visual Arts Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The Temporary Contemporary is the original name of The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.
