The Temporary Contemporary

Drawn from Life was situated in the galleries adjacent toThe Independent Group: Postwar Britain and the Aesthetics of Plenty and included works from MOCA's permanent collection that complemented that exhibition's theme of artists who share a significant interest in their commonly held culture. The twelve artists represented were Georg Herald, Mike Kelley, Barbara Kruger, Sherrie Levine, Bruce Nauman, Richard Prince, Charles Ray, Allen Ruppersberg, Edward Ruscha, Cindy Sherman, Laurie Simmons, and Christopher Wool.

The Temporary Contemporary is the original name of The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.

Drawn from Life was organized by Ann Goldstein, Associate Curator, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
