David Salle was the second of four traveling solo exhibitions presented as part of MOCA's “Inaugural Year” programming, which celebrated the opening of the museum’s Grand Avenue location and centered on the exhibition, Individuals: A Selected History of Contemporary Art, 1945-1986. The solo shows were conceptualized as extending the historical scope of Individuals into the more immediate present.
The exhibition was accompanied by a catalogue.
David Salle was organized by Janet Kordan, Director, the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania.
