Ruppersberg’s first retrospective Included approximately one hundred works created between 1969 and 1984. The show traveled to the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York, Sept. 28, 1985-Dec. 1, 1985.
The exhibition was accompanied by a catalogue.
In Context (1984–1985) was a series of exhibitions that commissioned artists to develop critical spatial interventions in creative or unusual sites.
Allen Ruppersberg: The Secret of Life and Death was organized by Julia Brown, Senior Curator, and Kerry Brougher, Assistant Curator, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
The Temporary Contemporary is the original name of The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.
