Lewis Baltz

Best known for his groundbreaking "topographic" works, this California-born photographer’s work addresses the late twentieth century crisis of technology, globalism and the human body. Three recent works of the series titled New Technologies, including the first U.S. presentation of Ronde de Nuit (1991-92), Docile Bodies (1994) and The Politics of Bacteria (1995), made since the artist's internationally circulated retrospective "Rule Without Exception."
