Analia Saban is a Los Angeles–based painter who seeks to reconfigure traditional notions of the medium, often using paint itself as the subject. Saban uses new technologies and unconventional methods such as unweaving paintings, laser-burning wood and canvas, and molding acrylic paint forms. Saban will discuss the work of Anna Maria Maiolino through the lens of their shared affinity for material and process, as well as gendered issues of the domestic.
