​Exhibition organizer Rebecca Matalon conducts a walkthrough ofTongues Untied. The exhibition presents a selection of works made during the plague years of the AIDS crisis, and is accompanied by a display of archival materials related to MOCA’s history of queer-related programming. These programs included a citywide, bilingual bus shelter project by artist collective Gran Fury;Roy Cohn/Jack Smith, a solo theater piece by Wooster Group member Ron Vawter performed at the museum’s Ahmanson Auditorium in 1992; and Karen Finley'sMemento Mori(1992).
