Andrea Fraser is an artist and Professor at the University of California Los Angeles. Identified with institutional critique, feminism, performance, and conceptual art, her work investigates the social, financial, and affective economies of cultural institutions, fields, and groups. Retrospectives of her work have been presented by the Kunstverein Hamburg (2003), Museum Ludwig Cologne (2013), Museum der Moderne Salzburg (2015), Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona (2016), MUAC UNAM Mexico City (2016) and Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw (2025). Her books include Museum Highlights: The Writings of Andrea Fraser (2005); 2016 in Museums, Money, and Politics (2018), and Andrea Fraser: Collected Interviews 1990-2018 (2019). Her work is currently featured in the 2026 Whitney Biennial exhibition.
