THOMAS STRUTH
09.15.02 - 01.05.03
One of the most renowned German artists to emerge from Europe in the last 25 years, Thomas Struth's engaging body of photographs renders the contemporary world--its buildings, and, people, and culture--deceptively familiar and startlingly new. In this survey exhibition of more than 90 photographs from the late 1970s to the present, MOCA presents Struth’s landscapes, portraits, architectural work, and "museum photographs,” works with a highly sophisticated, timeless pictorial rigor and beauty that marks one of the finest sensibilities of our day. The exhibition is accompanied by a major catalogue with essays by Charles Wylie, The Lupe Murchison Curator of Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art and exhibition curator, and MOCA Senior Curator Ann Goldstein, who is coordinating MOCA's presentation.

Thomas Struth was organized by the Dallas Museum of Art. The Los Angeles presentation has been made possible in part by Audrey M. Irmas.
