Power and Responsibility: Art Institutions and Cultural Change was a three-day symposium co-organized by the California Institute of the Arts, the Getty Center, and MOCA. Coordinated for MOCA by Ann Goldstein and Russell Ferguson, the meetings took place at the Pacific Design Center and involved various artists, curators, critics, and arts administrators. The purpose of the symposium was to examine the roles of art institutions as authorities in defining, producing, and presenting culture.
