Join haudenschild on Saturday May 10th and Monday May 12th for their reinvention of Allan Kaprow’s Travelog (1968). Check the haudenschildGarage blog for more on this two-part happening and Travelog.
SATURDAY, MAY 10 and MONDAY, MAY 12 haudenschildGarage
Contact for RSVP and exact location by May 1
True to the spirit and legacy of Allan Kaprow, the haudenschildGarage will reinterpret the Happening Travelog (1968). We will not be slavish or loyal, and hence represent the best legacy possible to the humble but irreverent Allan. Our three participants in Venezuela, China, and the United States will choose a service merchant to engage with and spend a day repeating the task. Three small groups in San Diego will then repeat the same service. For photo documentation of this Happening visit moca.org/kaprow and haudenschildgarage.com. To participate, RSVP by Thursday, May 1. INFO 858/454-4158 or monica@haudenschildgarage.com
Travelog (1968)
Originating in Madison, New Jersey, in Travelog, several cars drove around for half of the day, stopping at gas stations and switching tires—the front left with the back right, the front right with the spare, etc.—and the whole process was documented through a photo and audio-tape log. The next day the process was repeated without keeping the log.
