18 Happenings in 6 Parts (1959)
From this seminal work, originally performed at the Reuben Gallery in New York, the term “Happening” entered artists’ vocabularies. 18 Happenings in 6 Parts invites audience participation through a variety of acts, such as action painting and flute playing, occurring simultaneously in multiple rooms.
