Commencing on April 25 with a structure built at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), teams of volunteers, students, and others will reinvent Fluids (1967), building structures made of ice blocks at MOCA, Memorial Park in Pasadena (organized by Armory Center for the Arts), and other locations throughout
Los Angeles county. These events are coordinated

The Getty Center presents Overflow by the LA Art Girls, which includes a reinvention of Allan Kaprow’s Happening Fluids (1967). The project is conceived both as a historic dedication and a new contemporary art work that will explore the social aspects of Kaprow’s practice through a series of participatory events
and activities.

The MOCA Contemporaries will turn this well-known space of luxury and commerce into a temporary setting for performance and art by reinventing Kaprow’s Fluids (1967). This event is coordinated by The MOCA Contemporaries with the generous support of StratREAL Foundation USA.
Participation is open to members of The MOCA Contemporaries only; reservations required.
Originally occurring in Los Angeles and Pasadena, Fluids reflects the transitory nature of urban space by calling for the construction of large rectangular enclosures made from ice blocks, which are then left to melt throughout the city.
